Thực tế, Microsoft đã dành nhiều thời gian nghiên cứu và xem xét những gì mà các nhà phát triển hiện nay đang xây dựng và những gì họ muốn tạo nên trong tương lai. Kim chỉ Nam của tập đoàn  Microsoft là luôn mang đến những gì mà các nhà phát triển mong muốn. Một trong những hiệu quả của sự đầu tư này chính là điểm Acid 3. Khi Microsoft xuất xưởng trình duyệt Web IE8, điểm Acid 3 đạt 20 điểm. Microsoft đã lắng nghe những phản hồi từ các nhà phát triển để tập trung vào những gì họ thật sự mong muốn và hiện nay, Acid 3 trong Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview 4 đạt 95 điểm. Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview 4 có thể được công nhận là bước kế tiếp và điểm dừng cuối cùng cho phiên bản beta, cho phép tập trung vào việc cải tiến những lĩnh vực trọng tâm mà các nhà phát triển quan tâm.

Là một phần trong cam kết về tính tương hợp, Microsoft đã tăng cường khả năng hỗ trợ một số đặc điểm kỹ thuật HTML5, bao gồm định dạng CSS3, định dạng ảnh Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), XHTML parsing, hỗ trợ các tiêu chuẩn định dạng video và âm thanh mới (H.264/MPEG4 và MP3/. Hiện tại Internet Explorer 9 đang dẫn đầu về gia tốc phần cứng với HTML5, Audio và SVG cho những trải nghiệm Web thế hệ tương lai. “Internet Explorer 9 là trình duyệt đầu tiên đạt tiêu chuẩn mô hình Web mà các nhà phát triển sử dụng và chạy tốt hơn trên máy tính hiện đại thông qua Windows”, ông Dean Hachamovitch, Tổng giám đốc phụ trách sản phẩm Windows Internet Explorer, Công ty Microsoft nhận định.

Các nhà phát triển có thể tạo nên những trải nghiệm mới cho người dùng bằng cách thêm vào khả năng tương tác đáng tin cậy để có thể tạo ra hiệu năng tuyệt vời của phần cứng thông qua Windows. Điều này tạo ra những trang web mà các nhà phát triển có thể xây dựng và người dùng mong muốn thông qua Windows, mang đến cho Web một bản sắc riêng.

“Internet Explorer 9 hỗ trợ khả năng tăng tốc cho bộ xử lý đồ họa (GPU-accelerated) HTML5 là một mốc quan trọng cho điện toán hình ảnh”, ông Drew Henry, tổng giám đốc kinh doanh của GeForce và ION GPU của Tập đoàn NVIDIA cho biết. “Bằng cách khai thác năng lực vốn có của NVIDIA GPUs, Internet Explorer 9 giúp loại bỏ những rào cản đối với các nhà phát triển Web, cho phép họ có thể xây dựng những ứng dụng đồ họa phong phú và có hiệu suất cao hơn”, ông nói thêm.

Thêm vào đó, với những công cụ tốt như Developer Tools, User Agent String Picker…, Internet Explorer 9 sẽ giúp rất nhiều cho công việc lập trình Web. Just received one lovely mouse Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 from a friend, who came back home from USA. And let’s check these photos and Microsoft Wireless Monile Mouse 4000′s features bellow.

The Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 is Microsoft’s latest travel mouse. It offers many of the same features as the Explorer Mini, but does so for $20 less. This $40 device also uses Bluetrack sensing technology, which lets you use it accurately across a variety of surfaces that a normal laser mouse just can’t handle. Although less ergonomic, the 4000 fixes several of the problems we highlighted in the Explorer Mini, including the omission of the power-saving “off” switch and the right-handed design. Both of those features and more are included with the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000, a very capable travel mouse worthy of our recommendation.

The 4000′s plug-and-play hardware design makes it easy to pair it with a host computer. A small USB plug that Microsoft calls the “Nano Transceiver” pops out from its hiding spot in the undercarriage, which also houses the On/Off power switch, as well as a slot for an AA battery. While we normally prefer a rechargeable mouse, Microsoft claims the mouse will work flawlessly for up to 10 months on a single battery. The top of the mouse also houses a small red LED that alerts you when battery power is low. Microsoft also offers five pastel colors to choose from, including teal blue, berry pink, lime green, graphite, and white.

For software, Microsoft includes its Intellipoint 7 software for both PC and Mac. Here you’ll find settings for button assignments, and scroll and click speed, as well as help files in an easy-to-use program. If you don’t have the CD with you while you’re traveling, you can still use the mouse with your computer’s internal settings; no external drivers are required.

One of our major complaints with the Microsoft Explorer Mini Mouse was its right-handed-only design; the curves of the contours made it uncomfortable for lefties to use. Thankfully, Microsoft corrected this misstep in the 4000′s symmetrical shape, making it universally easy to scroll and click the four buttons. In addition, the entire mouse is covered with a soft textured plastic for extra grip.

The scroll wheel sits between the two main buttons and moves from side to side as well as up and down, with one minor tactile difference between the two scroll modes: horizontal scrolling with the dial makes a tangible click as each page moves, but up and down scrolling is completely smooth, with no tactile feedback. We prefer the ratcheting feel of a click wheel for scrolling through individual pages (featured in other mice, including the Logitech MX Revolution). The smooth dial that Microsoft incorporates into its mice feels sludgy and awkward. The scroll button itself is preset to activate the new Windows Vista Flip 3D overlay where you can quickly view all of your open windows in a digitally organized stack. And as with most mice, you can reassign all the buttons with the Intellipoint software.

The technical highlight of the 4000 is a proprietary technology that Microsoft calls Bluetrack, which combines the precision of laser tracking with the wide coverage of a standard optical mouse to let you use it on virtually any surface. This versatility should come as a relief for jet-setters who don’t want to lug a mouse pad around with their hardware; now they can mouse on a variety of tabletops, carpets, and other rough or reflective textures. While these surfaces present a problem for traditional mice, the 4000 scrolls beautifully across all of them. The one exception we found is glass. In that case, the cursor became erratic, moving very slowly at times and jumping across the page at others.

At just 4.04 inches long and 2.39 inches wide, the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000′s small footprint tucks easily into a laptop case or a bag compartment. The wireless transceiver can supposedly deliver an uninterrupted connection up to 30 feet away, and the promise of cable-free trips is definitely a plus for mobile professionals and traveling Web surfers.

-          High-Definition Formats (720p and 1080p). Now you can make your movies look even more polished and professional

Finally, a new tool introduced in the Windows Live Essentials family, Windows Live Sync. With Sync, you can access your files and folders on the web – even if your PC is offline.

Choosing Vietnam as the first stop on his Asian tour, Ballmer introduced cloud computing and Microsoft Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010 and Project 2010 to Vietnamese businesses on the morning of May 24 in Hanoi. He talked with more than 1000 students from the Hanoi University of Technology about the future of IT industry in the afternoon.

Witnessing the signing ceremony between Microsoft and FPT, Steve Ballmer praised the potential of Vietnam, saying that the memorandum would set the foundation for cooperation to develop cloud computing in Vietnam.

The Microsoft CEO attracted all students with his presentation at the Hanoi University of Technology at 3.30pm. According to Ballmer, Microsoft’s vision focuses on cloud computing. Most students didn’t know about cloud computing.

“Cloud computing will create many opportunities for Vietnam,” Ballmers confirmed.

At the end of his 20-minute talk, Ballmer remarked that students are future leaders and experts who will develop new products based on cloud computing and also help Vietnam achieve its IT goals.

Cloud computing is Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software and information are provided to computers and other devices on-demand, like an electricity grid.

Ballmer has assumed the CEO position at Microsoft since 2000 and has significantly contributed to its development. Though people have recently mentioned the name Ray Ozzie as the successor to Bill Gates at Microsoft, Ballmer is still the most important person driving the Microsoft ship to maintain its influence over the IT world.

He came to Vietnam for the first time in 2007 to witness the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements between Microsoft and the Vietnamese Government, to work with the Ministry of Education and Training and to meet officials of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), FPT Group and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV).

As Chris laid out in his blog post last week, the world of instant messaging has evolved in the last 14 years. In the early days of IM, most of your close friends were on one IM network, connected using their PCs, and sent text-only instant messages back and forth.

Today, people still want to stay in touch with their friends, but three things have changed:

• IM has evolved. It has gone beyond text to video chat – people want to share photos, videos, and links, too. People still love IM – they just want it to do even more.
• Social networks have changed how people communicate. Our second observation is that while people still primarily communicate with close friends, their communication has shifted from one IM network to a richer but more complex social landscape. Now, almost all of us communicate with close (and not so close) friends using social networks, other sharing sites, email, SMS, and IM – and we do so from our phones as often as from our PCs. Most people already have a primary social network they love, and they just don’t need another one. And although nearly everyone uses multiple services now, very few people we talk to want just “aggregation,” either. If all you do is copy and paste all the social feeds into one place, it can easily lead to a messy, combined list, half of which you’re not really interested in anyway. Getting 50 random updates is less interesting than getting 5 from your family and close friends, and 1 cool video that 20 of your friends are commenting on.
• People are spending more time away from their PCs. More and more, people are staying connected on their phones, and they’re spending time browsing the web and in web-based email, rather than connected to a client program on their PCs. Any connection with friends needs to be able to follow you across the devices that you use throughout the day, and should integrate into the experiences you’re having on each of those devices.

With this context in mind, we set out to do three things with this version of Messenger.

• Improving the IM experience. Hundreds of millions of people use Messenger every day, and we heard loud and clear that they wanted to do more in their conversations. We focused on improving the personal interactions with your close friends, so that you can continue to connect in even richer ways with the people you care about most.
• Staying in touch with close friends. This begins with bringing together the most complete picture of what your friends are doing across your social networks and other sharing sites, and then helping you see at a glance what your favorite people are doing, wherever they’re doing it. This includes comprehensive integration with Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, and a wide range of other sharing sites.
• Bringing Messenger with you to Hotmail, the web, and your phone. While the Windows PC is the best way to experience Messenger, we know that you spend a lot of time in web-based email, on your mobile phone, and browsing other websites. So we’ve built Messenger right into Hotmail, increased our support for SMS, and created Messenger apps for popular mobile phones.

Improving the IM experience

We know that hundreds of millions of people use Messenger every day and love it for what it provides – instant connection to their friends on Messenger. So we focused on making Messenger better for folks who love IM.

It can be difficult to have a meaningful online conversation about photos, videos, or website content when you’re not looking at the same stuff at the same time. The new version of Messenger brings you richer photo and video sharing, high-definition video chat, video messages, games, and one-click access to files on your PC, search results from Bing, and photos and videos shared on SkyDrive, Facebook, and other sharing sites. And we’ve made it easier than ever to do these together – so you can have a high-definition video chat with your friend while clicking through a set of photos, letting you see and hear each other’s reactions while you share. We’ve also made it easier to manage multiple simultaneous conversations by putting each one in its own tab.

And of course, as part of our deeper integration with Facebook, later this year Messenger will support Facebook Chat, so you’ll be able to IM all your Facebook friends from within Messenger.

Staying in touch with close friends

Most people today visit at least one social network and dozens of content sharing sites, get email with photos and social notifications, and of course, maintain accounts in numerous places with different sets of friends and content. So we focused on connecting Messenger to the social networks you already use, and prioritizing the most important updates so you can quickly see what your favorite people are doing, wherever they’re doing it.

We know your close friends share using email, IM, and social networks. So we brought all of those together into a single view. The status from your Facebook friends who don’t use Messenger? Check. The photos your mom sent you as plain old e-mail attachments? Check. The Office docs you’re collaborating on with friends in SkyDrive? Check. And the stuff your favorite Messenger friends are doing on hundreds of sites they choose to share from? Check.

And since simple “aggregation” can make things worse instead of better, we focused on prioritizing the people that matter most to you, so you don’t miss the handful of important updates from your closest friends and family just because your college and work “friends” are broadcasting their whole life every minute of the day. Just tag your favorite people, and we optimize your feed for the stuff those people are doing. Of course, it’s not 100% exclusive to your favorites – the most interesting things from your other friends like photos, videos, and links (especially the ones being commented on a lot) are there too. This makes us a great companion to the services you already love like Facebook, Flickr, MySpace, LinkedIn and more – and when you have time to go beyond those most important updates, diving deeper into those sites is just a click away.

Bringing Messenger with you to Hotmail, the web, and your phone

People are increasingly needing to stay in touch while away from their primary PC, so we are bringing Messenger to the places you communicate from. Our upcoming release will include not just Messenger itself, but also an update to Hotmail that puts Messenger front and center there, too (we’ll talk more about that soon). And we’ll bring Messenger to breadth broad range of mobile experiences, from SMS and simple browsing, to new Messenger apps for popular smartphones. The new Messenger Companion add-on for Internet Explorer will let you share links and comments from whatever website you’re on. And we’ll deliver an updated version of the the Messenger Web Toolkit (now called Messenger Connect), so websites can embed Messenger friends, conversations, and social updates directly into their experiences.

The new Windows Live Messenger

The way people socialize and connect with their friends is changing. We designed the new Messenger with these changes in mind so you can continue to use it to connect to your closest friends, wherever they are, and wherever you are. As Chris announced earlier, we’ll be releasing this to a limited number of individuals externally in the very near future, before expanding to a broader public beta, and finally to the full public release.

The intrusion began when Google employee in China clicked on a link sent in an instant message, which took the visitor to a corrupted website. It allowed access to the employee’s personal computer and ultimately the computers used by a key group of software developers at the company headquarters in Mountain View, California.

In January, Google uncovered the theft of intellectual property by revealing that it and other businesses were victims of “a highly sophisticated and targeted attack “. Google announced that it no longer intended to censor search results in that country and would consider leaving it entirely.

The attack which originated in China, swiped out source code from more than 30 SIlicon Valley companies. Chinese government had denied any involvement on its part.

Google has shut down the Google.cn site and redirected its users to Google.com.hk, which is Hong Kong based sites where it offers uncensored Chinese-language search services.

Cyberattack December last year Google had intruders stealing vital information from its computer. However, the Mountain View company didn't reveal the exact nature and extent of the theft that involved closely guarded company secret. According to the latest reports in NYT, one of the Google's password system that controls access by millions of users worldwide to almost all of the company's web services including the email and business applications.
